I am an Irish technologist with thirty years’ experience in academia and entrepreneurial ventures, after which I worked for a European institution, based in Brussels. There I led the implementation of education policies that seek to prepare citizens for the consequences of digital transformation, including artificial intelligence, robotics and autonomous systems. Working with some of Europe’s leading academics and industrialists, I inspired a generation of technology graduates to anticipate the impact of their innovations. I was a serial entrepreneur, creating five digital tech start-ups between 1995 and 2011, receiving an Ernst and Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award for doing so. My published works include a PhD thesis on satellite communications, as well as over 30 scientific papers and book chapters. Privicide is my first novel.
